Blue Frog “This was my first Blue Frog "experience" - back when House of Jazz and Blues was on this road, Judy's, Kangaroo Bar, and all the other dark and seedy places... Its still got the weird ambiance... Now there is just Blue Frog and a little further down south at the end of Maoming Nan lu there is Constellation #2. Burgers + G'n'Ts. This is why you head to this point of the universe. Forget everything else. There is nothing else. Grab a Blue Cheese burger. Gobble it. Then head to Constellation #2 and proceed to feed your thirst - over and over! Its all good!”

MAYA “Love the tacos. Great ambiance. Good service. Good drinks. Main courses are yummy and large. Try the spicey chocolate volcano desert. I mostly just order a few rounds of the Tacos. Nice place to take that special lady. They also have a Cigar/Wine lounge with an awesome pool table. Now if only I lived a little closer I could eat here more regularly!”

Casanova “Always consistent. Good Italian food. Good service. After you can head downstairs to Velvet Lounge for some drinks. Some of the best pizza in town. Crisp, thin, delicious. ”

The Fat Olive “Good wine. Good Greek food. Great view from the patio. See the attached picture. Gets a little windy up there in autumn/spring, but they provided blankets. Definitely a good location for drinks after work - if you dont work out in the middle of "nowhere" like I do.”

New York Style Pizza “After a good night out and plenty of alcohol... this is where the single guys go to line their bellies and redeem their self confidence. Very oily, but hits the spot.”

1221 “I used to eat here quite a bit when I first came to Shanghai. Some great dishes combined with some mediocre dishes. Have not been back in 2 years. An easy introduction to Shanghai food for those fussy Americans. ;-)”

PAUL “*** CLOSED DOWN *** Suspect too much competition from Wagas. For some reason was never really busy. Not a bad place for a good hot chocolate and a reasonable quick fix French pastry. A little on the pricey side though. ”

Boxing Cat Brewery “Reasonably good food - great with drinks. Burger is massive. Now the home brew beer is why you really want to come here. Pool table on the top floor with some tight corners which can make games a tad more interesting. They even have a dart board. Nice patio on the 3rd floor for a group of friends to catch up. Good music. Often have live bands as well. ”

Element Fresh “Great location next to the park. If you sit by the window you forget you are in the 'hai. Salads are big and tasty. I just cycle through the 6 or so salads. The CowBoy breakfast almost hits the spot... Service is good. This is my regular place for salad and the odd breakfast. Nice fruit drinks and blends. Get a member card as the points add up quickly!”

Bubba's Texas-style Bar-B-Que and Saloon “I always found the meat to be far too dry and too much sauce. Nothing special. I normally leave feeling heavy. Been twice. Wont go back.”
