Di Shui Dong
“Ah - a favorite with locals and foreigners, this place is noise, bustling, has lots of cold beer, and tasty, spicy food.
The ribs and the shrimp skewers are a must.
Afterwards, head down the stairs for some Belgian beer.”

“And finally closed for good in that location.”
Mythos
“The food is authentic enough, portions aren't generous but real.
The view is probably the best thing about the place, with the service bringing up the rear. The staff was busy staring at the wall and seemed to avoid catering to their customers' needs at all cost.”
Vienna Cafe
“Ah, the Vienna Cafe. Peter's home away from home, this little cafe serves great food and coffee, in a beautiful old style house in the heart of the French Concession. Brunch on Sunday's is tasty and always crowded, so come early.”
Amokka Café
“A really nice and friendly cafe, very non-mass consumer style in the heart of a great district.”
The Fat Olive
“Lunch is a pretty good deal - 48 RMB for salad, wrap and espresso. The food is tasty, the views not bad and the staff is generally friendly.”
La Saleya
“If it were not for the noise from the street, their little garden would be perfect for lunches, dinners and in-betweens. As it is, it is still ca great little gem in Shanghai, the food is yummy and the wine selection is a good match. One of the best lunch spots in the hood.”
Specchi
“Free wireless, breakfast from 7:30, renaissance interiors and lots of yummy baked goods make this a perfect change from the ubiquitous Starbucks.”
Laris
“I had very lovely goat cheese and a yummy veal fillet, rounded of by a wonderfully round grappa. Service was prompt, if a bit wooden and the view matches the wine list.”
BECA
“This place is fab for a sunday afternoon. The outdoor terrace has sunshine, big umbrellas, the kids can lounge and the people keep walking by. The food can be hit and miss, I liked the Procini Risotto, but the laffa wrap chicken cesar was a bit odd. Service can be slow at times, but friendly.”
